Drunk drivers: Car overturns on the A60 near Mainz!

In the early morning hours of January 25, 2025, around 04:20 a.m., a serious accident occurred on the A60 motorway in the direction of Bingen, which was caused by alleged alcohol consumption of the occupants. The driver of a Skoda lost control of his vehicle, so that it came to the right of the road. After driving over a protective plan, the car lifted up and overturned several times before it came to a standstill about 150 meters further on the driver's side in the green strip, such as antenne-kh reported.

In the accident, not only were the two occupants of the car, slightly injured, at the age of 34 and 55, but also considerable damage to property. Two traffic signs, a protective bank and a guideline were damaged during the incident. The affected men were admitted to the Hospital of the University Medical Center Mainz after the accident.

alcohol influence and driving license

Both occupants showed a breath alcohol value of over 1 per thousand. Due to the unclear driving behavior, the police ordered a blood sample. It also turned out that neither the 34-year-old nor the 55-year-old owned a valid driver's license. This also raises questions about the responsibility for the accident, since it remains unclear which of the two men actually sat at the wheel. The police have initiated an examination of the accident and secures the relevant evidence, such as Robert Koch-Instituts are provided.
