Equality in focus: Events for Women's Day in the district

In 2025, the district of Südliche Weinstraße organizes the “Bread and Roses” series of events to draw attention to women's rights and gender equality on the occasion of International Women's Day. This traditional series takes place in the region on March 8, a date that is used worldwide to celebrate these important topics. This year the series is wearing the subtitle "Equal Opportunities Week" for the first time. Isabelle Stähle, the district's equality officer, emphasizes the importance of equality between men and women and sees them as a task for society as a whole.

Numerous educational institutions such as the University of Hamburg and the Helmut Schmidt University supported this reading. Schutzbach discusses the "revolution of connection" and how female solidarity contributes to the change in society. This event was free of charge, but the registration phase had already passed and all places were fully booked. However, a waiting list was available for interested women.
