Bundestag election Rhineland-Palatinate: 14 parties compete, three failure!
On February 23, 2025, the Bundestag elections will take place in Rhineland-Palatinate, in which 14 parties are on the ballot. In a public meeting, the state election committee in Mainz approved the lists of the approved parties. The approved parties include well -known names such as the SPD, CDU, Greens, FDP, AfD, the left, as well as some smaller parties such as the animal welfare party and volts. Particularly noteworthy is the Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), which engages in the list of approved parties, all of which were registered for the election.
At the same time, three parties were excluded from participation: the humanists, the party of progress and the grassroots democratic party of Germany (thie-). The reason for the non -registration was the lack of 2,000 valid support signatures that are necessary in order to be able to start the election. This was already seen as a challenge for new or small -format parties in the previous elections.
