Meat cheese rolls: snakes in front of the grill in Mainz and Hoyerswerda!

meat cheese rolls are very popular in Mainz and other regions, especially at the hot counters of the Globus market halls. The demand is high, which can be seen not least on the long snakes before the butchers. The price for the roll is currently one euro, which is considered moderate, but has recently risen.

globus has decided to secure this price with a fixed price guarantee, so that the meat cheese roll remains available for one euro until further notice. In the past, the price was increased to 1.20 euros, but due to customer protests, the original price was quickly returned. This development was also observed in other globe markets, such as "https://merkurist.de/mainz/supermarketkette-leischkaese-broetchen-groetchen-globus-decision_swnu?pk_campAign=newsfeed"> merkurist.de reported.

price stability despite challenges

The meat cheese rolls are a popular product, especially in the Globus market hall in Hoyerswerda. Here the demand is so strong, especially at lunchtime, that snakes form in front of the butcher grill. Despite general inflation, the price for the roll remained stable. A short price increase around 20 cents in 2022 was quickly withdrawn, explained Karl-Heinz Palm, head of the Globus specialist in Hoyerswerda. He emphasized that the unit price of one euro for meat cheese rolls in all German globe markets applies. This information was confirmed by Saechsische.de

The butcher currently employs 45 people and processes whole, freshly slaughtered pigs from the region every day and French Charolais cattle twice a week. Production begins at 5 a.m. The daily meat requirement is about 4 tons, with 50 percent used for sausage and the rest for meat as well as bones and rinds. The waste will be sold, for example to producers outside the food industry.
