On January 1, 2025, the traditional New Year's parade of the Garden took place in Mainz, which marked the official start of the 2025 carnival campaign. Around 1200 guards, dragoons, hussars, herolds, princesses and princesses and about 450 musicians took part in this colorful parade.

The move started at 11:11 a.m. on Ernst-Ludwig-Platz and led over the Great Bleiche, Münsterplatz, Schillerstrasse, Schillerplatz and Ludwigsstrasse to the cathedral square, where the New Year's concert of the Mainz Garden took place. This concert was organized in cooperation with the Mainz Carneval Association (MCV) and the city of Mainz.

At the New Year's concert, music pieces of various foolish chapels were performed, including the Mainz Prinzengarde, the Füsilier Guard and the Grenadier Guard Mainz-Gonsenheim. In addition, there was a New Year's reception with Mayor Nino Haase and a festival program organized by the MCV train line and the city protocol.

The square concert started around 12 noon with a musical invasion, initiated by the satchel guard. After the greeting by the mayor and the president of the MCV, free soup was distributed to the guests. The motto of the 2025 carnival campaign reads: "Celebrate in Meenz, that's nice, but Don’t Forget SE train plakett!", As the Mainz Carneval Association reports.
