New Year's concert in Ludwigshafen: Classic meets operetta!
On January 3, 2025, the New Year's concert of the German State Philharmonic Rhineland-Palatinate took place in the Palatinate Construction in Ludwigshafen. Under the musical direction of conductor Gregor Bühl and with the clarinetist Sharon, the concert came as a soloist a diverse program design, which was sufficient from classic to operetta -like works.
Special highlights of the evening were the overture to "Donna Diana" by Emil Nikolaus von Reznicek, the clarinet concert No. 2 in ES major by Carl Maria von Weber and selected pieces from Tchaikovsky's "The Nusscracker". In addition, the overture to "Die Flesinkaus" by Johann Strauß, "It ain’t Necessarily so" from "Porgy and Bess" by George Gershwin, "Libertango" by Astor Piazzolla, dances from "Moscow Tscherjomuschki" by Dmitri Schostakowitsch, The Walzer "on the beautiful Blue Donau" by Johann Strauss and the "champagne gallop" by Hans Christian Lumbye.

The State Philharmonic had previously given several concerts in the region, including on December 29, 2024 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse and on December 30, 2024 in Worms. Previously, a concert also took place on January 4, 2025 in Pirmasens, and today, January 5, 2025, another concert in Zweibrücken is held.
Ticket prices for the New Year's concert were between 19 euros and 42 euros, whereby the advance booking was possible both online and by phone and by email.
