Rhineland-Palatinate Day 2025: Neustadt celebrates with parades and anniversary!
The 38th Rhineland-Palatinate Day will be organized in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse from May 23 to 25, 2025. The festivities take place in the city center and promise a colorful program that appeals to both young and older citizens. Otherwise, the event will take place near the historic Hambacher Castle, a symbol of the German democracy movement. Prime Minister Malu Dreyer and Mayor Marc Weigel are the organizers of this important celebration, which also coincides with the 750th anniversary of the city of Neustadt.
At this festival, citizens have the opportunity to experience the history and identity of their state up close. The Prime Minister emphasizes the combination of commitment and joie de vivre to shape the event. In addition, the planning and organization of the Rhineland-Palatinate Day from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate is more strongly supported, which should help to minimize the financial risks for the host municipality.
The program of the festive days
In contrast to previous events, parades will be carried out with music and foot groups this year, which replace the traditional pageant on the state festival Sunday. Participation is possible for costumed foot groups, walking acts and music groups.
The dates of the parades are as follows:
- Friday, May 23:
- 6 p.m.: Opening parade with a space concert
- 8 p.m.: evening parade
- Saturday, May 24th:
- 12.30 p.m.: Opening parade
- 3:30 p.m.: Mittag parade
- 6.30 p.m.: evening parade
- Sunday, May 25th:
- 12.30 p.m.: Opening parade
- 3:30 p.m.: Mittag parade
- 6.30 p.m.: evening parade
Registration for interested groups is possible until Monday, February 10th. Here, music and foot groups can flexibly register for several consecutive parades. Interlactions can contact Sonja Zimmermann, the tourism officer of the district administration, by phone at 06322 961-1307 or by email to Sonja.zimmermann@kreis-bad-duerkheim.de.
special attractions and markets
The Rhineland-Palatinate Day 2025 will also include a small medieval market. This serves as an introduction to a larger medieval market that will take place in June 2025. In addition, restaurants and exhibitors are invited to participate in the event via registration forms.
The event is supposed to celebrate the history, future and identity of Rhineland-Palatinate, whereby the focus is on the commitment of the region and celebrating together. The event offers an excellent way to present the diversity and pride of the region, and expects a broad participation from the entire population.
