Accidents with an S-Bahn: Fallen trees provide chaos in the region!

On Christmas Day, an accident occurred in Poggenhagen between an S-Bahn and a car. A 61-year-old driver collided with a fallen tree on the district road between Neustadt and Poggenhagen at 9:15 p.m. The tree lay across the road and the crown protruded to the parallel railway line Hannover - Bremen. The driver of the S-Bahn could not brake in time and rammed the tree. Fortunately, the driver, the train driver and all passengers remained unharmed. However, the driver was brought to the clinic for control because her small car was under the tree to the windscreen.

The accident happened at around 4:00 a.m. in the direction of Spandau, not far from the Pichelsberg train station. Here the tree was in an elongated curve, which made it impossible for the train driver to brake. Fortunately, there were no injuries here either. The tree was sawn and removed by Deutsche Bahn employees in the morning.
