Winter wine date in the castle: Experience 150 wines and magical light!
On February 7, 2025, the first winter wine date will take place in the majestic ambience of Arenfels Castle in Bad Hönningen. The event, which lasts from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., promises a highlight for wine lovers: over 120 wines from 27 renowned wineries of the Middle Rhine Valley are offered for tasting. With this measure, the district offers a platform to promote the marketing of Middle Rhine-Wines, which emphasizes District Administrator Achim Hallerbach as an important goal.
This year the event will take place for the first time in winter format, which is a change from the usual summer edition. While the summer event often took place outdoors, the wines are now tasted in the festive atmosphere of the castle. The geographical reach of the participating wineries extends from Oberheimbach to Spay, from Kaub to Osterspai and also includes companies from Leutesdorf to Königswinter and from the Lahn.
attractions and supporting program
According to Stefan Jedele, Managing Director of the Middle Rhine-Wein Association, the Winter Wine Date is the largest joint wine tasting in the northern part of the cultivation area. In addition to the selection of wines, the event is supplemented by special attractions. So the magical castle lights will spread a magical atmosphere. From 7.30 p.m. the celebration in the castle cellar continues with a party that ensures additional entertainment.
Another highlight of the evening: The participants can look forward to a variety of wines, this year even 29 wineries. Both VDP wine goods as well as organic wine goods and both large and small companies are represented among the providers. Many of the wineries present recently received awards from well -known institutions such as Eichelmann, Vinum, Falstaff, LWK and Gault & Millau

For all participants in the event, the journey with local public transport (public transport) is included in the price of the tickets, which enables an environmentally friendly journey. Water is also provided free of charge during the tasting. The tickets are available regionally via ticket, which ensures quick and easy booking.
