Health fair in Neuwied: get fit and healthy older!

On March 23, 2025, the health fair "Align - stay fit and healthy" celebrated its successful premiere in the St. Katharinen community center in the Neuwied district. The event attracted many visitors before the start, although the official opening took place at 11 a.m. District Administrator Achim Hallerbach, who had taken over the patronage, underlined the importance of stable health care and the role of the medical infrastructure in the region.

The health fair offered a wide range of information on topics such as prevention, well -being and healthy eating with a total of 37 exhibitors. Exhibitors ranged from health insurance companies to digital ambassadors to regional hospitals and initiatives. Particularly noteworthy was the Linz Franziskus Hospital, in which Hallerbach also spoke about current renovation processes and called on cooperation.

At the fair, visitors could not only collect information, but also actively participate. The hands-on activities included a smoothie bike, a dementia course, lachyoga, chair gymnastics and dance fitness. In addition, the exhibitors offered individual health checks such as blood pressure measurements, oxygen measurements and hearing tests.

The district of Neuwied has been part of the Kölnbonn e.V. health region since 2018 and has launched several initiatives in recent years. This includes the health portal "Meinegesund-Kreis-Nr", the coordination office for health promotion and prevention as well as a digital care structure map. These initiatives aim to stabilize inpatient patient care and promote inter -municipal cooperation.

A special focus is on improving emergency care and the expansion of the emergency services. The district is also committed to an app-based first aid system "HeartSafe" in order to be able to help quickly and effectively in an emergency. Hallerbach also calls for reliable hospital planning and sufficient investment funds for the health infrastructure.

The health fair was not only an information point, but also the start of the "Week of Participation", which took place from March 24th to 31st in the Linz community.
