Pirmasens: Important help for families - advice starts on January 9th!

The pact for Pirmasens is aimed at families with low incomes and offers special service to support financial matters. In a cooperation between the job center, the social welfare office and the family fund, families receive free advice on government services. Many families are often not aware that they are entitled to additional services, such as housing benefit, child surcharge and the educational and participation package.

The initiative pursues the goal of reducing hurdles and fears in order to offer the families concerned quick and unbureaucratic support. Regular consultation hours enable clarification of questions about evidence and income limits. On site, the employees inform about child benefit, child allowance and housing benefit and applications can be made directly at the individual consultation dates.

First consultation and contact information

The first consultation hour in the new year will take place on January 9 to 6 p.m. in the Pact coordination office in Marienstraße 6 in the Winzler district. An online date booking is possible at Appointment.stadt-pirmasens.de . If you come without registration, you have to expect waiting times. If you have any questions, interested parties can call 06331/1444742 or send an email to pact@pirmasens.de.

In addition, the services from the educational package are geared towards promoting children in low -income families. These include money or benefits in kind, such as vouchers. The city or municipality provides the funds that include the coverage of the costs for tutoring hours, the subsidy of membership fees in the sports club as well as a partial assumption of the costs for sports equipment or musical instruments.

Requirements and application for the educational package

In order to be entitled to the services from the educational package, the family of the Bürgergeld or children's surcharge (KIZ) must receive. The child must be younger than 25 years, attend a daycare center or a general or vocational school and may not receive any training allowance. When applying, relevant evidence must be submitted to make the claims.

Details for the application and information are available from the city or community. The contact person regarding the educational package can be found on the website of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. It is pointed out that the benefits for education and participation are requested together with the application for citizenship money when referring to citizenship money. Evidence of expenses must be submitted to reimbursement of the costs, with the exception of school supplies, which is reimbursed by a fixed amount. Additional state funds for families are also available, as can be experienced on the "Support for Parents" page.
