Westerwaldkreis leads: There are so many electric loading points now!

The trend towards electromobility continues to increase in Germany, and the number of public charging points for electric cars is growing continuously. A current analysis shows that the two federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland have significant differences in the spread of charging infrastructure.

If you look at the total number of loading points in Rhineland-Palatinate, there was a total of 6,335 public charging points on February 1, 2025, which corresponds to an increase of 21 percent compared to the previous year. Of these, more than 2,000 fast loaders with an output of at least 22 kilowatts are. However, a look at the federal state comparison shows that Rhineland-Palatinate ranks in midfield, while most charging points in Baden-Württemberg (27,778), North Rhine-Westphalia (31.077) and Bavaria (31,463) can be found.
