Fall in the district: combat helicopter Tiger fly night exercises!

The citizens in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district have to prepare for increased noise in the night from February 3 to February 6, 2025. During this period, the combat helicopter regiment plans 36 intensive night flights to ensure the operational readiness of the pilots and to train young comrades in particular. This reports op-marburg.de .

The flights are carried out over a wide area, which not only includes Marburg, but also Alsfeld, Allendorf an der Eder, Korbach, Warburg, Göttingen, Mühlhausen and Bad Hersfeld. For some of the planned low flights, heights of less than 100 feet (approx. 30 meters) are planned, which can significantly increase the noise pollution. Two to four combat helicopters type Tiger are used each night, such as ndr.de reported.

goals and effects of the exercises

A main goal of these exercise flights is not only the improvement of the flying skills, but also the support of air forces in operations and participation in emergency operations and disaster relief. The regiment belongs to the division of fast forces based in Stadtallendorf and is known for its versatile missions.

The Bundeswehr has announced that the practice area should be changed regularly to minimize the disorders for the residents. Nevertheless, the noise caused by the fight helicopter, especially during the nights of these exercises, could lead to complaints. Citizens are therefore asked to report any noise pollution to the citizens' phone 0800/862 07 30, as well as bild.de reported.

The exercises are part of a more comprehensive training strategy of the Bundeswehr that aims to optimally prepare the soldiers for missions. By combining theory and practice in a realistic environment, the skills and the rapidness of the pilots are to be strengthened.
