On January 18, 2025, Lohmar presents itself with a probably sunny weekend that is perfect for winter hikes. Among the many available paths, the farm path stands out, an attractive circular hiking trail, which is part of the renowned Bergische forays. This special path marked with the Red number 18 has a length of 12.6 kilometers. The hikers should prepare for a walking time of about four hours while enjoying the attractive village landscape.
The tour begins at the Auel Castle and leads past golf courses in the immediate vicinity. After less than one kilometer, the first foresight over the picturesque surroundings of Lohmar becomes visible. There are eleven informative tablets on several points along the way that educate about life on a farm, including topics such as farm animals, crops and the history of agriculture in the region.
