The Lahnstein City Library has launched a new educational offer that is aimed specifically at families and children. From now on, 18 special reader bags are available for loan, which should help promote reading ability and creative discovering different topics. Each of these backpacks is equipped with a selection of books, games and game materials that are tailored to a specific topic. Among other things, the children can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of detectives, dinosaurs, healthy eating, sleep rituals, sports and emergency vehicles. An image is also attached to each backpack that shows the complete content to make the selection easier for the families, as News-koblenz.de reports.
This innovative project is supported by a generous promotion of the Naspa Foundation of 1,500 euros. The support was promised last year, and Christian Eisenhut, head of the Naspa financial center, was also present at the official performance. Mayor Lennart Siefert praised the initiative and the implementation of the concept, which aims to offer children and parents the opportunity to play new topics in a playful way.

The reader bags are now available in the city library at Kaiserplatz 1. The opening times of the library are on Mondays and Fridays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Interested parents can fill out a member application directly in the library to get access to the versatile offers.
The city library not only offers the new reader bags. According to the information from the Lahnstein website, the extensive offer also includes various media boxes that have thematic materials, for example via body, knights or volcanoes. These boxes can be requested for groups and educational institutions. In addition, the child-friendly BEE-bot robot is available, which promotes logical thinking and the problem-solving skills of the children through programmable tasks.
