Insolvency of the Lambsheim social center: 160 patients in need!

The ecumenical social center Lambsheim in the Rhein-Palatinate district had to close its doors, which plunges the future of around 160 patients into the unknown. This decision was made by a believer meeting before Christmas and led to an acute emergency in the care of the region.

According to reports, those in need of care who were previously looked after in the social center have found different alternatives. The situation remains unclear, since some nursing associations in the area already offer clear perspectives, while others are still without a definitive solution.

bankruptcy and its consequences

The bankruptcy of the ecumenical social center Lambsheim is a concern of excessive signal in the region. Diakonie Pfalz has advised affected patients and their relatives to look around for new care offers. Recommended contact points are neighboring social stations in Ludwigshafen, Frankenthal and Böhl-iggelheim. However, these facilities face the challenge because they have few staff and can hardly accept new patients.

The patients primarily concern those in the northern Rhein-Palatinate district, with places of place of Fußgönheim to Bobenheim-Roxheim. Pastor for Diakonie, Albrecht Bähr, expressed his regret about the lack of clarity and blamed the insolvency administration. He criticized that the insolvency administration focused on a comprehensive takeover for too long and did not examine alternatives for the patients in time.

According to current information, a total of 29 employees are affected by the closure. A statement by the insolvency administrator is still pending. Furthermore, Caritas and Diakonie warn of the impending bankruptcy of several social stations in the Palatinate, since about a third of these facilities in the Diocese of Speyer are worn by volunteers. According to Caritas and Diakonie, these volunteer structures are no longer sufficient to meet the growing requirements.

Additional challenges result from increasing energy costs and the shortage of skilled workers, which further tighten the already tense situation.
