The Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis district college starts from March 2023 with a comprehensive range of EDP and media courses that impart new digital knowledge. In an increasingly digitized world, further training in these areas is becoming increasingly important. Programs cover basic computer skills and special applications that are of relevance for both professionals and private users.

The new courses are the "Health Digitally Support - Knowledge about Erecept, Apps & Co.", which is offered for the first time. Participants learn how to use online doctor's dates, redeem an erector and which aspects of data security must be taken into account. This course will take place in Böhl-Iggelheim on March 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and in Schifferstadt on March 27th at the same time. Both courses are free of charge, but registration is required. Interested parties can register directly at the respective adult education center: the VHS Böhl-iggelheim at 06324/963 217 and the VHS Schifferstadt on 06235/44 593.

Another highlight of the offer is the lecture "Artificial Intelligence - an introduction", which will take place on March 17 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at VHS VG Maxdorf. For a fee of 10 euros, participants get basic insights into the world of AI. Registrations are possible via the VHS VG Maxdorf at 06237/401 140.

For beginners in the Microsoft Office programs, a basic course for MS Word is offered. This begins on March 10 and takes place on three assembly - March 10th, 17th and 24th - from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Schifferstadt. Registrations are also possible via the VHS Schifferstadt.

In addition, the VHS offers special courses for women who want to stay fit in everyday office life. From March 2025, various modules for MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint are on the schedule under the title "Fit in everyday office life - EDV re -entry". Participants can book the individual modules, each of which begins on different days. The module "MS Excel" starts on March 7 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The fees vary and depend on the number of participants, starting at 22 euros.

In addition to the offers of the district college, ILS , how relevant the topics related to artificial intelligence are up to date. The IT department of ILS offers a modern range of courses with online study centers, learning videos and exercise options in which the theoretical basics for AI are conveyed.

The practical applications of AI tools such as Chatgpt and Github Copilot, which are treated in various courses such as "Python programmers", "PHP database developer" and "media information", are particularly noteworthy. Participants receive free information and teaching material that helps you to exploit the possibilities of AI.

The wide range of courses of the adult education center and the ILS reflects the increasing need for digital competence in today's working world and thus offers the citizens of the region valuable opportunities for further training.
