A tree for eternity: Dudenhofen commemorates Eugen Haberstock!

In the current weekly column of the Rheinpfalz illuminated. This tree was planted as a living memorial to Eugen Haberstock, the late honorary chairman of the forest building association Ganerb. Peter Eberhard, the current chairman, emphasizes that Haberstock was actively working for the promotion of the forest and nature. Eberhard is convinced that Haberstock would have been proud of the use of his tree monument in the press article.

The connection between the forest building association and the Palatinate band Fine R.I.P. is reinforced by the party song "Wackelkontakt", which was published in a local version "Schorlekontakt". The common pleasure of Rieslings spritzer plays a connecting role here. The interest in a photo of the band in the forest around Speyer clearly shows how cultural elements merge with nature.

municipal council and citizen participation

Another discussion point concerns the citizen participation in the Dudenhofen municipal council. There are current concerns here that citizens are not allowed to speak on topics of the agenda, unless it is the special residents' questioning. In the last session, a citizen was denied the speech because his concern was not on the agenda. Mayor Jürgen Hook referred to the rules of procedure, which only allows questions, but also suggestions or suggestions in the residents' question hour as long as they do not exceed three minutes. This regulation causes displeasure and raises questions about transparency and participation.

Many citizens, including Elvira Theurer, who have been committed to the Römerberg seniors for years, wonder how these regulations can promote communication between citizens and the community. Theurer took part in the German senior citizens' days in Mannheim to collect new approaches to support older citizens. These events visited by personalities such as the still Chancellor Olaf Scholz illustrate the importance of senior citizens' work and active exchange.

Forestry and forest pedagogy

At the same time, the view of the forest building club Ganerb, which is planning a surprise in the Gamen Mönchsbusch in March 2025, is moving. Leaf burning wood and possibly also jaw burnwood will be incurred. These measures are part of a comprehensive program that started on January 26, 2025 with the publication of the dates for the year. The upcoming events, such as the joint club trip on September 10, 2024, should strengthen the sense of community.

Another focus is on forest pedagogy, which is supposed to bring people of all ages closer to the forest. This form of education promotes an understanding of the importance of sustainability and a responsible handling of forest resource. The aim is to educate current challenges such as climate change and lack of personnel. The initiative, which has been set in the State Forest Act of Baden-Württemberg since 1995, shows how important a sound education is for a future generation.

Forest building associations such as Ganerb play a central role in promoting awareness and appreciation for the forest through various programs and events. Förster and trained forest educators bring their experiences to enable practical learning in the forest. These efforts are essential to establish a permanent connection between people and nature and to sensitize future generations to this important resource.
