Honorable award: four domestic people honored for their tireless efforts

On April 30, 2025, four committed citizens were awarded the Honor Badge of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate in the Mayen-Koblenz district. The honor took place in the district house, and District Administrator Marko Boos presented the awards in the name of Prime Minister Alexander Schweitzer. In his speech, Boos emphasized the decades of commitment to the honored and thanked their families for the support that they experienced in their voluntary work.

The excellent people are:

  • Hermann-Josef Baecker from Kobern-Gondorf: He is involved in local politics as well as in clubs and is committed to work and youth sports.
  • Gerhard Degen from Kirchwald: Degen is active in the organization of children's free time, offers senior offers and promotes the preservation of dialect.
  • Fritz-Peter Hanke from Thür: He has emerged in digitization, media work and in the international aid project "Malaika".
  • Bernhard Krayer from Mendig: Krayer is known for his many years of engagement in the sports club, integration and the participation of urban life.
