HOME Semester start in Worms: 400 new students welcome!
On March 24, 2025, the Worms University of Worms welcomed over 400 new first semester to its summer semester. This significant day not only marks the beginning of a new phase of life for the students, but also illustrates the diversity and international character of the educational institution. The President of the University, Alexandra Nonnenmacher, opened the official greeting and emphasized the importance of commitment, curiosity and openness.
In her speech, Nonnenmacher emphasized that the time at the university is a unique phase in the life of the students. The freshmen are particularly supported by the student councils and student bodies that offer an easier start to student life. These organizations have also prepared an extensive information package for the new students.

The mayor of the city of Worms, Stephanie Lohr, was also present at the greeting. It paid tribute to the historical importance and diversity of the city and described Worms as an attractive location with a high quality of life and numerous options for the students. This is further reinforced in the Ersti-Week, which comes up with a varied program from campus tours, introductory events and joint activities.The university also offers support for students who have already enrolled within the past six months and would like to switch to another course. These do not receive a new login data or a new student ID, but can continue to use their old ID. For those who want to recail again at the university after a long time, it should be noted that new login data is awarded because the former account is deleted six months after the de-registered. In such cases, students should contact the student service if the old student ID is no longer available, since a new ID is not automatically created.
