Married couples from Kleinniedesheim honored with state award!

On Wednesday, remarkable honors were made in Kleinniedesheim. Two couples, Stefanie and Gerhard Karl Jung as well as Heike and Heiko Schwerdel, received the badge of honor of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. This award was handed over by District Administrator Clemens Körner on behalf of the Prime Minister. Mayor Ewald Merkel had proposed the two couples for this honor, which underlines the importance of their many years of voluntary work. It is particularly worth mentioning that District Administrator Körner has never been able to award two married couples at the same time in almost 16 years in office and thus took a rare occasion.

The commitment of the honored is exemplary. Stefanie Jung has been on the board and entertainment committee of the small animal breeding association since 1999, while her husband Gerhard Karl Jung held various club offices from 1966 to 1997 and has been chairman since 1997. Heike Schwerdel has been a 2nd chairman of the small animal breeding association since 2005, and her husband Heiko Schwerdel was active at the singing club for almost 33 years, including eight years as chairman. The Jung and Schwerdel couple organized numerous events, including exhibitions, birthday parties and anniversaries.

diverse commitment in the municipality

The honored are not only very active in their clubs. They also played an important role in public events such as the Kerwe, the asparagus and goose meal in Kleinniedesheim. Stefanie Jung and Heike Schwerdel are particularly responsible for service and hospitality. Your work has contributed to enriching community life in town and promoting the commitment in the club.

The small animal breeding association, in which both couples are committed, has expanded its offer in recent years. In addition to the traditional club activities, educational offers are now also provided, which reinforces the relevance of the association in the local community.

The importance of such awards is also evident in the context of the Order of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. This is the highest state award that is given personalities who have made extraordinary for the country. Various social engagements are recognized, including by those who work in silence. The law on the Order of Merit was issued on October 2, 1981 and allows the state parliamentary president and members of the state government to submit suggestions to honor personalities for their merits, such as rlp.de

The two couples Jung and Schwerdel are therefore part of an honorable circle that is currently limited to 800 living sponsors. Your award stands for the heart and devotion with which you are working in your community, and testifies to the appreciation that such commitment experiences.
