With Foto Lenz, Schifferstadt loses a piece of photographer history!

The photo studio "Photo Lenz" in Schifferstadt has finally closed its doors after 40 years. Martina Lenz, who has been running the business since 1985, took the last picture shortly before Christmas. The studio was founded in 1968 by her father, and Martina Lenz grew up in the photo shop. At the age of 16 she started her training and has taken millions of pictures since then, including numerous bridal couples, children and passport photos.

In recent years, the demand has focused primarily on passport photos that were requested cautiously after Corona pandemic. The prominent customers of Martina Lenz include the former soccer professional Olaf Marschall. It is one of the pioneers of digital photography in the region after introducing this technology in her studio in 1997. The last opening day of the photo studio was December 19, 2024.

handover to successor

from January 2024 Derya Gedik will take over the photo studio. Martina Lenz plans to register as a guest at the University of Heidelberg for studying geosciences. In addition, she would like to get involved in the Schifferstadter neighborhood aid and sings in the choir da Capo 1854. She retains her photo equipment, but would like to use a small compact camera for travel.

The studio was known for passport photos at Ludwigstraße 44, 67105 Schifferstadt. Appointments can be made by phone at 06235 2100 or by email to [email protected], as reported.
