Bach's masterpieces sound in the Speyer Cathedral: organ cycle starts soon!
The opening concert begins at 7.30 p.m. and offers a diverse selection of works by Bach as well as from its students and admirers. The evening starts at 6.45 p.m. with an introductory conversation from Eichenlaub on the choir pedestal, which will give the audience deeper insights into the compositions and their historical contexts. The admission prices are very moderate at 15 euros (reduced 5 euros).
A look at the program
The program will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach and contemporaries such as Georg Böhm and Dieterich Buxtehude. Compositions by Bach students such as Johann Ludwig Krebs and Johann Gottfried Müthel also find their place in the concert. There are also pieces by the late romantic Charles-Marie Widor, Sigfrid Karg-Elert and Walter Landmann, which are based on Bach's topics.
The international organ cycle comprises a total of seven concerts that will take place in the Speyer Cathedral. The Second concert will take place on May 28th at 7.30 p.m. List Bruckner's fifth symphony B major for organ duo.
