The events of the VHS should not only encourage further training, but also strengthen awareness of environmental and nature conservation. The Lower Nature Conservation Authority, which is responsible for nature conservation and landscape maintenance, pursues the goal of maintaining the natural livelihoods for future generations. According to Speyer.de , the preservation of the natural diversity and the protection of endangered types is of central importance.

In particular, it is important to protect the regeneration ability of the natural goods and the habitats of flora and fauna. These include all European protected bird species as well as exotic species such as various orchids and turtles. The monitoring and enforcement of the nature conservation provisions are among the central tasks of the nature conservation authorities.
