Drawn work in Speyer: Parks bloom new for the citizens!
In February 2025, there are significant changes in the Feuerbach Park and the Melchior Hess facility in Speyer. The start of the clearing work is planned for this month and takes place as part of the funding project "Social Corporation Speyer Süd", which aims to redesign and upgrade the parks. The measure is intended to serve in particular to create new tree locations, while the number of newly planted trees that the cleared trees will be exceeded, as the Rheinpfalz reports.
The clearing work affects a small number of trees, mainly divided shrubs. Smarts worth preserving are left behind and get an anesthetic. The restructuring of the planting areas is necessary to promote more robust and more adaptable plant species that are more suitable for the city climate.
new plantings and plant selection
A total of around 60 tree new plantings are planned in the two parks. The selection of the plants is particularly important. Heat resistance, dryness compatibility and the use of domestic species are crucial criteria. In addition, insect -friendly trees and perennials as well as berry bushes are to be planted as food source and nesting places for birds. This approach aims at high vegetable diversity, which is also easy to care for. The selection is also influenced by the aspect of the high pressure of the park.
The planned work is carried out taking into account the residents. During the clearing work, access to the streets and sidewalks remains guaranteed. However, temporary blocking of parking areas must be expected and noise pollution cannot be excluded. The redesign and upgrading of the parks is currently being planned, the degree is expected to be planned in the coming weeks, followed by the actual construction work that should start in April.
optimal conditions for city trees
The successful planting of city trees requires careful planning and corresponding measures. According to information from Greenleaf, several essential points are important for long -term growth. This includes air supply, lighting conditions, water supply, nutrients, root room and protective measures. In urban areas in particular, the soil is often condensed, which affects oxygen supply to the roots. Systems such as Arborvent and Rootrain can help create optimal conditions.
Another problem in urban environments is nutrient supply. There is often a mineral soil nature that is unfavorable for the growth of trees. The nutrients can be improved by using a human -rich substrate. Supplementary systems such as rootbox create an indefined root room that offers the trees stability and space for root development.
For the proposed new plantings in the Feuerbachpark and in the Melchior Hess facility, it is crucial that all measures are well coordinated and all points are taken into account to ensure sustainable and healthy development of the new trees.
Further information on the planned design of the parks is available on the website of the citizen participation and in the city's public council information center.
