hiking experiences in the Palatinate Forest

For guests who arrive by car, there are two options. One option is to go to Bad Bergzabern and turn 300 m behind Birkenhördt from the B 427 to the left towards Hirzeckhaus. The first option leads to the forest parking lot "Birkenhördter Linde", followed by a one -hour footpath. The second option uses the forest car park at the Hirzeck summit, which has a shorter hike of about 20 minutes to offer. It is worth noting that parking at the Hirzeckhaus is only permitted for service managers and there are no parking facilities directly on the house.

A special highlight is the construction of a climbing tower to increase the leisure value of the area. The way to the Hirzeckhaus is also being renovated to improve access and security. The Hirzeckhaus itself celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2024, for which a festive weekend is planned in June with a lecture by Peter Körner.
