Solemn discharge: Götz and Hey draw successes by the youth fire brigade
On April 14, 2025, an important chapter ended in the history of the district youth fire brigade southern Weinstraße. In a solemn event in the district house, Roland Götz and Daniel Hey were paid by District Administrator Dietmar Seefeldt. Götz, who worked as a district youth fire brigade from 2016 to 2025, and Hey, who has shone since 2014 as deputy district youth fire brigade, left a significant heir in the youth fire brigade.
A total of over 100 children and adolescents as well as almost 70 guests from the fire and administrative world took part in this emotional celebration in the casino of the district house. Götz and Hey were brought to the event with a fire engine, with the young members of the youth fire brigade and Bambini groups stood trellis to say goodbye to their predecessors.
unforgettable merits
Both men received the silver coat of arms of the Southern Wine Route district as a sign of their merits. Götz will be remembered in particular for the “Security” working group of the district youth fire brigade and, as the initiator and organizer of the “Queichtal-Challenge”, which will take place in autumn 2025 in its sixth edition. In addition, he campaigned in the district's youth welfare committee for subsidizing daily events in youth welfare.
Hey, on the other hand, was responsible for the annual reports of the youth fire brigades and successfully led the youth leader card course. His future role will focus more on the management of the district training. Both also developed the training of the youth center at the district level in cooperation with the fire brigade and civil protection academy of Rhineland-Palatinate (LFKA).

The new incumbent as part of the celebration was also presented: Sascha Fück was hired as the new district youth fire brigade manager, while Sabine Reidt acts temporarily as deputy district youth fire brigade. Heiko Mees remains deputy district youth fire keeper. These new leaders are faced with the challenge of continuing the path taken and continuing the valuable work in the youth fire brigade.The farewell of Götz and Hey not only marks the end of an era, but also the beginning of a new time for the youth fire brigade of the southern wine road.
