Committed pastor celebrates perspectives for children in Contwig for 24 years!
On January 3, 2025, the candidate Silke Gundacker gave insights into her career and her visions for the future parish office. Gundacker, who grew up in Kirkel-Neuhäusel, has been connected to the church since childhood and has practiced organist service for many years. She has shaped her extensive training in theology both as honorary, secondary and full-time employees. In addition, she completed her special vicariate in the district social service of the Saarpfalz-Kreis youth welfare office, where she was particularly committed to socially disadvantaged children.
In 1996, Gundacker competed in Contwig and Stambach, where she accompanied people in different situations for 24 years. In 2020 she became a pastor in the Prot. Parishes of Rieschweiler-Geselweiler-Reifenberg and continues to work as a teacher at IGS Contwig, where she taught students on the subject of the church. Gundacker is married to Jürgen and has two children aged 21 and 19.
studies of theology
The study of theology includes a basic course with three essential elements that create a solid basis for the prospective students:
- General -oriented events: These include interdisciplinary introductory seminars or study projects as well as the introduction of problems and principles of scientific theology, including the instructions for scientific work.
- Subject-specific introductory events: Overview lectures and proseminars convey methodological knowledge that is required for independent participation in the scientific-theological work.
- Events for deepening: Main lectures or topic -related seminars and exercises offer options based on the interests and previous knowledge of the students, which enables a more thorough study of exemplary objects.
In addition, the study advice is of central importance, especially at the beginning of the course. This is offered at all study locations and is mandatory for new students. In addition, the training departments of the regional churches advise on study matters.
A mandatory internship is also part of the study, which is carried out in the local communities or practical fields. The duration is usually four weeks, and participation must be proven when registering for the first theological examination. The aim of the internship is to create a critical relationship between the knowledge of the studies and practical experience, whereby the training departments inform about special regulations in the regional churches.
