The district administrator pointed out that some athletes, including the sports gymnasts of the TV Dahn, were not present because they were preparing for the upcoming Palatinate Championships. In absence, this group received a gold medal for their services, such as Rheinpfalz.de reported.
The honor included both individual and team performance. Jana Rohr from TV Thaleischweiler was awarded a gold medal for her success in stone pushing and in the athletic pentathlon. Other athletes who were awarded in three categories were also extremely successful. The following athletes received medals:

voluntary work and their challenges
Great value is placed on the voluntary work in sports clubs in the current discussion about the continued existence of sport and community life. A survey of 3,682 volunteers from Rhineland -Palatinate sports clubs shows the challenges with which the clubs are confronted. The results were at the forum "Intensive care patient volunteering?" presented. It was found that 74 % of the respondents perceive increasing requirements in their offices.A central result of the study is that lack of time and an increasing overwhelming are often the cause of the termination of voluntary activities. Only 56 % of the clubs surveyed use targeted speech in volunteer advertising, which indicates that many potential committed people are not sufficiently achieved.
The present honor and the continuous use of the clubs form a strong foundation for sport in the district of Southwest Palatinate. These activities and the appreciation of the services provided strengthen the community and promote voluntary work in the region. Suggestions for the next award ceremony can be submitted to the district administration by February 16, 2024, with the guidelines on the website lksuedwestpfalz.de can be viewed.
