TV Hauenstein: Handball women fight for relegation with 27:22 victory!

On February 3, 2025, the handball players of TV Hauenstein achieved a decisive victory in the Oberliga. With a final score of 27:22 (12: 9) they prevailed against HSG Landau/Land. This important success not only gives the team a thrust, but also helps to secure the whereabouts in the top division. The TV Hauenstein competed against a direct table neighbor in this game, which also underlined the importance of the game. Laura Fuchs was an outstanding player and scored a total of eleven goals.

The team of TV Hauenstein consists of various players who concentrate together on the season goal of reaching fifth place in the table in order to secure the relegation in the top division. However, this season was challenging because some players, including Sina Siegel and Claudia Wolfer, were at short notice. Nevertheless, the Björn Stoll team is trained and has prepared intensively for the upcoming challenges. The preparation includes strength training, endurance runs and indoor training with a strong focus on defensive work and speed.

The structure of the team is diverse, with players aged 15 to over 50 years of age who are also involved in the handball leisure team. This team comprises over 20 women who train once a week in the Wasgauhalle. The trainers are Katja Spengler, Tina Hagenmüller, Lena Seibel and Werner Kölsch, who create a committed environment. In a recent training session, both coordinative and acrobatic exercises were on the program to further strengthen the sporting skills.

The handball league is the fifth of the highest division in German handball. It is also one of the second highest leagues of the regional associations for men and women. Several national associations organize the upper leagues. As part of the German Handball Association, a total of 313 teams play in 21 leagues. The masters of the Oberliga can climb and two to four teams usually get off.

With the clear goal of securing the relegation, the TV Hauenstein stands out from the fight for the front places. This determination will certainly pay off in the upcoming games, because every game counts - especially against direct competitors such as the HSG Landau/Land.
