Nanstein-Berglauf: Records tumbled despite the rain and storm!
The Nanstein-Berglauf in Landstuhl took place on March 12, 2025 for the 27th time and enjoyed a good number of participants despite adverse weather conditions. This year, 272 runners started. In cool temperatures of around 8 ° C as well as rain and wind, the participants faced a demanding route: 7.1 kilometers with 350 meters of altitude, which rose particularly steeply for the last 600 meters. The event was organized by the LLG Landstuhl, which was satisfied with the response of the run.
The fact that the mountain run is part of the Palatinate mountain ride cup attracts many ambitious athletes. Participants have to take part in at least four of the seven competitions as part of this trophy to get into the rating. The competition was particularly strong this year with the favorites Melanie Noll and Jonas Lehmann, who have won the Landstuhl mountain run several times.
competition course and records
The starting shot was given by Hermann Brand at 3:00 p.m., the first board of the LLG Landstuhl. Jonas Lehmann triumphed for the fourth time in a row and set up a new route record with a time of 23:51 minutes by undercut the previous record by 22 seconds. Tim Könnel, also from TuS 06 Helfersberg, took second place and improved the existing record by two seconds with a time of 26:25 minutes. Third place went to Andre Bour with 26:27 minutes.
Melanie Noll was at the top of the podium for women and won her fourth victory in a row in a time of 30:35 minutes. She prevailed against Jessica Kammerer, who needed 30:61 minutes, and Anna Janßen, who took third place with 32:41 minutes.
participants and weather conditions
The weather conditions were an important topic this year because they were an additional challenge for the athletes. Last year 283 finishers started in bright sunshine. The strong representation of TuS 06 Helfersberg with Tim Könnel, Andre Bour and Tom Heuer, as well as Jessica Kammerer as a further favorite among women, shows the high level of performance of this competition.
The mountain run over the Nanstein is still very popular, despite the adverse weather conditions and the cancellations in the past, such as the run planned for March 14, 2020, which was canceled due to the coronavirus. The participation and record performance of the athletes show that enthusiasm for this traditional competition is unbroken.
