Rapid escape: police arrest drivers without a driver's license!

On April 11, 2025, there was a dramatic persecution in Saarburg, which could be dangerous for the participating road users. A dark car was to be checked by the police when the driver suddenly pushed the accelerator pedal and tried to escape control. The car raced through the streets at excessive speed, which resulted in passers -by so as not to be in danger.

After the vehicle drove via Graf-Siegfried-Straße to Trier Strasse and further through the districts of Niederleuken, Biebelhausen, Wiltingen and Kanzem, the vehicle initially lost. Later the car was found empty on a dirt road. Afterwards, however, the driver was arrested by the police near the vehicle. The reason for his escape quickly turned out: the man was not in possession of a valid driver's license. Fortunately, nobody was injured in this incident.

A special focus is on the most common administrative offenses, with speed overruns in men (1,890.005) and women (547.088) stand out as the most striking categories. These statistics illustrate the need for controls in road traffic and the role of the police to ensure traffic safety.

The Saarburg police are looking for witnesses who can provide information on the driving behavior of the fleeing driver. Such incidents underline the challenges in front of which the security authorities are in handing with traffic offenses.
