Weststrichen Trier revives: new trains for commuters and students!

On March 3, 2025, the western route Trier in Rhineland-Palatinate was officially reactivated after decades of interruption. This new connection is not only a significant addition to the regional rail network, but also a connection between Trier and the neighboring Luxembourg. The planned train connections should benefit commuters and students, with two hourly connections between Wittlich and Luxembourg city as well as between Schweich and Saarburg.
