Innovative talents honored: BNT graduates shine with AI projects in Trier!
The VDE (Association of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology) honored the best theses in the Balthasar Neumann technique (BNT) in mid-January. The event took place in the Friedrich-Wilhelm wine industry in Trier and offered the excellent graduates the opportunity to present their work in front of a specialist audience. The winners were Marcel Richter and the team of two consisting of Christian Arends and Marcel Scheller. They not only received prize money of 100 euros, but also a two -year -old free membership in VDE.
The award -winning theses addressed central aspects of modern technology, in particular automation and artificial intelligence (AI). Automation describes the takeover of human tasks by machines or systems that are used to increase efficiency. Artificial intelligence, on the other hand, supports optimization processes through data analysis and independent decision -making. Kevin Kimmer, CEO of VDE Trier, praised the high quality of training on the BNT.
innovation in the vehicle industry
After the award ceremony, Prof. Dr. Florian Dräger from the Trier University of Applied Sciences about the Protron project. This research and teaching project aims at the development of innovative solutions for the vehicle industry. The team plans to take part in the Shell-Eco Marathon 2025 with the former Protron world championship car. The focus is on adapting the vehicle to the current state of the art and the 2025 regulations. The project is financed by donations, cooperations and sponsorships, whereby the VDE Trier provides 500 euros annually.
This event illustrates the importance of dialogue between science, business and society. The technical educational cooperation between the Trier University of Applied Sciences and the Balthasar Neumann Technikum is also underlined. On April 7, 2022, a robot by the world market leader Fanuc was successfully integrated into the processing and manufacturing logic. This offers students practical and application -oriented self -development options in an innovative environment.
practical education with industrial standard
At the BNT, students have the opportunity to work in the areas of gripping, welding, 3D printing and milling with industrial standard inpatient robotics. The established hybrid mechanical engineering laboratory of the BNT offers collaborating robotics, supported by the Fanuc company. Lecturer and Dr. Schäfer, headmaster of the BNT, emphasize the importance of the technical qualification offer for the large region.
In an increasingly technology -driven world, knowledge of artificial intelligence is central. A seminar on the subject of “AI in technical processes” is aimed at managers, project managers and developers. It deals with the basics, current trends and practical applications from AI in industry. With a focus on machine learning, participants are prepared for the implementation of AI projects.
This comprehensive offer aims to achieve efficiency increases in technical processes, protect resources and promote innovations. A strong foundation of technical knowledge and interdisciplinary cooperation is thus created for future development in the industry.
