ATM in Üxheim blown up - police asks for evidence of witnesses!
Unknown perpetrators blew up an ATM in Üxheim, located in the Vulkaneifel, from Monday to Tuesday. The explosion occurred at around 02:57 a.m. and led to considerable damage to property, the exact amount of which is still being determined. As the Sol.de reports, the machine is free-standing and was in operation at the time.
So far, there is no evidence of the perpetrators. The Daun police have consulted the local specialist services to assess the crime scene and asks the population to report with relevant information. Witnesses can reach the police on the phone number (06592) 96260.
incidents in space and possible connections
This explosion is not the first incident of this kind in the region. According to tagesschau.de , an ATM in Reisdorf was only blown up last week. In addition, there was a similar incident in Schillingen in the district of Trier-Saarburg in early January, in which unknown explosives were also used.
The police are faced with the challenge of determining the background and possible connections of these acts. The current case raises questions as to whether it is a series of slogans that may have been committed by the same perpetrators.
So far there are no injuries, but there is a great concern for public security in the region. The investigation is still underway, and the crime scene is still examined by specialists to secure possible traces.
