Swimming pool offers for schools: Höhr-Grenzhausen invests 3.8 million euros!
The Höhr-Grenzhausen community faces a significant development in the swimming pool area. Due to bottlenecks at the swimming pool times for schools in Höhr-Grenzhausen, Wirges and Montabaur, the decision was made to build a teaching swimming pool. The Else-Schütz Foundation takes over the financing of the construction project, which should bring unique advantages for the region's school infrastructure.
The teaching swimming pool will be built on an area of around 800 m² in the Höhr-Grenzhausen school center. The general conditions have already been approved by the district council. Construction costs amount to around 3.8 million euros. The association assumes the annual follow -up costs, which can be up to 150,000 euros. The property for the project belongs to the Westerwaldkreis and is left to the association as part of a heritage law contract without inheritance interest for 50 years. A special aspect of the contract is that the Westerwaldkreis can reclaim the property free of buildings after the inheritance period.
use and costs
An advantage of the new teaching swimming pool is that this will not be accessible to the public. Only the district's own schools have the opportunity to use the swimming pool. The cost sharing for schools is only 1 euro per lesson and students. This regulation is intended to ensure that access to swimming training is guaranteed for the pupils of the region and that bottlenecks are reduced during the times in the existing facilities.
But the challenges in the field of swimming pool supply are not limited to Höhr-Grenzhausen. The construction and revitalization of swimming pools generally present challenges before Azienlijke, such as Sportplatzwelt . Successful projects require careful planning and often also a feasibility study to examine economy. These studies are important to implement the targeted usage concepts and to avoid overloading existing systems.
Another highlight in the region is the natural swimming pool Linderhohl, which was recently passed into the winter break. In the 2024 season, around 22,000 visitors were counted here, which represents an increase of around 8,000 compared to the previous year. Despite a rainy summer start, bathing was smooth. Visitors are asked to use the designated parking spaces to maintain proper parking regulations.
The combination of the new teaching swimming pool in Höhr-Grenzhausen and the positive development of the natural swim bath Linderhohl shows how important the promotion of the swimming frastructure is for the region. It remains to be seen how these projects affect the local community and whether the teaching swimming pool will actually bring the urgently needed improvements in swimming training.
