41 doctors celebrate the appointment: Historical step for Wiener Neustadt!

On December 28, 2024, 41 doctors from the University Clinics Wiener Neustadt, Neunkirchen and Hochegg received their decrees as university professors, associated professors and assistant professors. These appointments are related to the new master's degree in human medicine at Danube private university (dpu) in Wiener Neustadt.

The Newly Appointed Professors are intensively involved in the theoretical and practical training of medical students to ensure practical training. In addition, around 120 other doctors from the university clinics are already active as trainers at the bedside. A total of 230 medical students have been trained at the university clinics since the beginning of October 2024, including 100 in the first year of study, 80 in the second year and 50 in the clinical-practical year.

The Wiener Neustadt Clinic plays a central role as a university hospital and is involved in Neunkirchen together with pneumology in Hochegg as well as psychiatry and orthopedics. Mayor Klaus Schneeberger described the settlement of the DPU as a historical step for Wiener Neustadt as a university city. He highlighted the importance of the clinics for the training of future doctors.

Robert Wagner, director of the DPU, praised the commitment of the doctors for the training of the growth of doctors. The DPU was accredited in 2009 and offers a wide range of courses, including human medicine and dentistry. From autumn 2024, the master's degree in human medicine will be offered at a new location in Wiener Neustadt. The DPU is also known for its research projects and cooperation with national and international institutions.
