Medical ceremony in Wiener Neustadt: 41 new professors for the future!

On January 3, 2025, 41 doctors received their decrees in Wiener Neustadt. The ceremonial award took place as part of the university training at Danube Private University (DPU). Among the honored are university professors, associated professors and assistant professors who are now working in the newly founded university clinics in Wiener Neustadt, Neunkirchen and Hochegg.

The university professors are primary doctors who lead the teaching and research in their department, while associated professors are habilitated senior doctors. Assistant professors are doctors who want to develop in science. These appointments are related to the new master's degree in human medicine on the DPU, which expands and strengthens medical training.

New developments at Danube Private University

In addition, Danube Private University (DPU) from Krem's new tenant in the Technology and Research Center (TFZ) Wiener Neustadt is. The university initially rents around 600 m² and is planning the settlement of several research groups. These include Medical Image Analysis & Artificial Intelligence (Miaai) and the International Laboratory for Life Sciences & Technology (List).

The goals of these research groups include early and minimally invasive diagnosis and the treatment of serious diseases. In particular, emphasis is placed on the use of artificial intelligence as well as imaging and analysis methods in order to discover cancer at an early stage. In addition, high-tech sensors are being developed that are able to identify viruses and diseases in exhaled, saliva and air.

The DPU plans to set up further research groups at the location, as well as a planned training center for medical skills (SIM center) in the TFZ Wiener Neustadt. Students should benefit from modern teaching methods in complex simulation rooms. Director Robert Wagner emphasized the importance of cooperation between the country, company and research institutions in Lower Austria, while Wiener Neustadt was described as the center for medical excellence and research.
