Worms 2025: A year full of culture and exciting festivals!

In 2025,

Worms is all about a variety of events that combine both culture as well as tradition and conviviality. The city offers a colorful range of major international events as well as district and village festivals, which will provide entertainment all year round. Already in March the series of events begins with the carnival parade on March 1, in which the carnival clubs organize a colorful and happy move through the city center. A special highlight will be the night parade in Horchheim, which keeps the tradition of Fastnacht alive. In April the event "Worms blooms on" from April 5th to 6th is planned, at which florists and artisans present their works in the city center. A Sunday open on April 6th will also take place.

Another important event in April is the Worms wine mile, which takes place from April 24th to 27th. Here the wines of the Worms winegrowers along the city wall can be tasted. On the last day of the wine mile, April 27th, the Roman day is celebrated in the museum on the Andreasift. In addition, the month of May is characterized by various musical events such as "Musik am Gammi" on Saturdays, followed by car -free cycling day on May 18 and the festival "Jugend im Park" on May 24th.

A large medieval festival awaits visitors at the Spectaculum from May 30th to June 1st, followed by further priorities of the Worms summer season.

Nibelungen Festival and cultural highlights

A particularly outstanding event are the Nibelungen-FestSpiele , which will take place from July 11th to 27th. In the staging of the new piece "See from Asche - The Song of the Nibelungs" by Roland Schimmelpfennig, the legendary story of Siegfried and his colleagues is impressively telled. Schimmelpfennig, the currently most played German -speaking playwright, brings profound topics such as the loss of the indestructibility of the world and the threat to nature by human action. The piece is staged by Mina Salehpour, which has already made a name for itself in renowned theaters.

A small but significant part of the festival is the Mario-Adorf Prize, which has been awarded since 2018. He is endowed with 10,000 euros and is awarded for outstanding services in the field of theater. The award ceremony is an integral part of the festival time and recognizes talent that enrich art and culture in Worms.

autumnal festivals and Advent season

After the summer months have passed by festival and markets, a new season of the celebrations begins in September with the backfish festival (August 30th to September 7th). This traditional folk festival is supplemented by the festival of cultures (September 20), which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. In October, the Schum-Kulturage, which will take place from October 18 to November 15, are also characterized by cultural diversity and Jewish tradition.

The Advent season is celebrated in Worms with various Christmas markets, which are organized in numerous districts, such as in Abenheim, Heppenheim and Neuhausen. The highlight of the Christmas season is undoubtedly the Worms Christmas, which will take place in the city center from November 20 to December 23rd.
