Mannlich-Realschule Plus: Successful Erasmus accreditation in Zweibrücken!

The Mannlich Realschule Plus in Zweibrücken has received a significant award: acceptance in the Erasmus Plus program. This recognition makes the school one of the few secondary schools in Rhineland-Palatinate, which are funded as part of this initiative. Of a total of 441 applications in Germany, only 13 general education schools in Rhineland-Palatinate were approved for the 2024/25 round of application. This success project shows the commitment of the Mannlich Realschule Plus for international education and exchange.

The accreditation is based on the long -term international orientation of the school, which has already gained a wide range of experiences in exchange. These include a traditional skiing, an exchange program to London, adventure educational trips to the Tarn Gorge in the south of France and an exchange project with Rwanda. Marc Sadowski, the school officer of the school, emphasized the importance of the program and how Erasmus Plus should enable the students to actively experience Europe.

The school is planning several exchange projects for the school year 2025/26. An exchange with ten to twelve students and two teachers are planned. The focus will be on innovative formats that exceed classic student exchange. Topics such as the environment, culture and digital education are intended to shape the content of the projects and stimulate the students to learn intercultural learning.

Another example of the aimed in international cooperation is the ETWINNING project by Luisa Michely. This is entitled "Looking for the ideal school: a Franco-German school-Création et Présentation d’ une École Idéale Franco-Allemande" and promotes freedom to break through teaching routines and try out new creative ideas. The cooperation with a colleague from France, who teaches on a Parisian École, enables the eighth graders to present, compare and discuss their respective schools.

Luisa Michely has the goal of reaching students who do not participate in AGS, exchange programs or excursions. ETWINNING is an ideal tool for intercultural exchange. The positive experiences of the project brought Michely inspired ideas for their lessons. The Mannlich Realschule Plus thus uses various options to offer the students a comprehensive educational and learning experience that goes beyond the borders of Germany.
