Pleitrege: Keeplocal from St. Wendel has to close! What now?

The voucher provider Keeplocal from St. Wendel is in front of the final. On March 4, 2025, it was announced that the company's bankruptcy request was rejected and the Keeplocal GmbH is now in liquidation. According to current information, the situation for customers who have fully solved vouchers is more than uncertain.

On July 10, 2024, the company submitted an bankruptcy application to the Saarbrücken District Court. The preliminary insolvency administrator, lawyer Andreas Liebaug, checked the financial situation and, after two weeks, found that renovation was no longer possible. The Saarbrücken district court finally rejected the application because Keeplocal is considered to be insolvent and over -indebted. The claims for creditors amount to around 5.24 million euros, while vouchers worth around 2.15 million euros nationwide are in circulation. In Saarland alone, around 730,000 euros are missing from redeemed vouchers, which are now expected to be exposed to the failed bankruptcy application.

liquidation and consequences for customers

In the provisional term of office of Liebaug, it was found that the company's assets, including laptops, cell phones and desks, have to be sold. The proceeds from this liquidation will benefit the creditors. Andreas Maurer, the managing director of Keeplocal, will act as a liquidator and is responsible for the processing of the company.

The situation is particularly precarious for the voucher owners, since many may no longer be able to redeem their vouchers. Information on the Keeplocal website is limited, which does not reduce uncertainty for the customers concerned. By the end of August, further details on the whereabouts of the voucher customers and creditors are to be provided on the website. Customers are asked to strive for patience until they are waiting for final clarifications.

The developments around Keeplocal throw a light on the challenges of voucher providers and their stability in a competitive market. sr.de reports that many customers are in similar situations and that the uncertainty about the refunds of their funds has an impressive effect.

The bankruptcy of Keeplocal is not only an economic problem, but also affects the personal concerns of many customers who now have to hope for the successful completion of the liquidation.
