On January 13, 2025, the New Year's reception of the district and European city of Saarlouis took place in the ballroom of the theater on the ring on the ring. In addition, the "Safe School - we take care" campaign is implemented to improve traffic safety. A strengthening of the shopping city of Saarlouis and the transformation of the business location are also the focus of its term.

"I am optimistic about the growth and the future position of Saarlouis in Saarland," said Speicher. He underpinned his optimistic picture with the positive signals from both the population and the economy.

Marc Speicher: A new mayor for Saarlouis

Marc Speicher was sworn in in October 2023 as the new Mayor of Saarlouis. The swearing -in took place in the presence of Peter Demmer, the previous mayor, who presented him with the certificate of appointment. Speicher that represents the CDU goes on a new path with his term until September 2034, which in Demmer's words is a turning point for the city.

After his swearing -in, Speicher emphasized the challenges that are now coming up to him. "The task as a mayor is demanding, but also gratifying. My focus applies to the interests of the citizens in the eight districts," says Speicher. The new mayor was grateful for the good exchange with his predecessor and expressed the desire to clarify the priorities.
