Royal Thunder is looking for basketball talents: Be the second Tryout!
The search for talents for the WNBL team of the Royal Thunder goes into the next round. Another Tryout will take place on April 4, 2025 to find promising basketball players for the upcoming qualification tournaments. This measure follows the first sighting training, which was very successful and in which 16 young athletes took part. Coach Mario Coursey was positive about the level of the players, which further increases the expectations for the coming months. The WNBL team of the Inexio Royals Saarlouis, which is represented in the Bundesliga for the fourth time this season, focuses on the development of talents in the highest German youth league.
The WNBL (female young talent basketball Bundesliga) was founded in 2009 and has set itself the goal of offering young players under the age of 18 (U18) a platform for promoting and collecting experiences. The league itself is divided into four regional groups. The Inexio Royals Saarlouis play in the south group, where they meet teams like the Basket Girls Rhein Neckar, BSG Basket Ludwigsburg and USC Freiburg.
talent promotion in focus
The goal of the upcoming Tryout on April 4th is clear: The team wants to form a powerful ensemble for the qualification tournaments. Players with a minimum size of 1.75 m, a pronounced fighting spirit, passion for basketball and motivation are particularly in demand. The Royals not only pursue the goal of developing in sports, but also to strengthen the team spirit and the connection to the professional team that has recently celebrated a DBBL Cup victory. Coach Monika Jasnowska and player Gloria Kunisch have contributed significantly to this success and also act as role models for the young talents.
Young players who are interested in participating can register with Hermann Fassbinder via email. This open invitation aims to expand the talent pool of the Royals and to train potential internationals for future challenges.
The development of young athletes
The Royals have shown in the past that they can successfully promote talent. The team won the German championship in a syndicate with the MJC Trier in 2011. Now it is important to put the individual and tactical development of the new players in the foreground. Coach Gabriela Chnapkova and Assistant Coach Andreas Edelbluth rely on targeted training in order to optimally prepare the players for the challenges of the WNBL and beyond.
interested players can contact the Royals office or directly at the contact address Hernan@bc-sls.de. The motivation behind these tryouts is clear: basketball sports should not only be operated at a high level, but also create a community that stands for team spirit and commitment.
