Chess action in Saarlouis: Blitz tournament inspires all generations!

On April 2, 2025, the Blitzschach team championship took place in Saarlouis Steinrausch under the motto "Together of the Generation". Organized by the “Rochade Saarlouis” association, the tournament was a great success with a total of 22 participating teams that fought for the title in 15 exciting games. The rapid playing time of three minutes plus two seconds per game provided exciting and dynamic encounters.

The tournament director Tim Aubertin, who scored five points in nine games for "en passant Völklingen", led the event with great competence. Wolfgang Bender, President of SSV 1921 e. V., won eight points in 13 games and contributed to the gratifying tournament atmosphere. The organizational association received special praise for its excellent organization, which offered the players a pleasant environment and provided fair play.

The "Tower Illingen" prevailed in the A-Racer and qualified with a total of 51 points for the federal level. The second place in this rating went to "Turm Winterbach" with 48.5 points, followed by "Saarbrücken 1", which took third place with 46.5 points. In the B-classification, the "Junge Wilden" from SV Riegelsberg won, which took sixth place in the overall ranking with 22 team points. "Saarbrücken 3" secured second place in the B class with 16 points, just followed by "Riegelsberger all sorts". Participants expressed satisfaction with the course of the tournament and the results.

In the multi-generation house in Saarlouis, another important shaft tournament took place at the same time, in which 55 children and adolescents from eleven clubs in seven rounds determined the new youth-Saarland champions for over five days. A total of ten new title bearers were chosen in the age groups U10 to U18. A gratifying result for the Saarlouis chess club, whose member Felix Rusch (15) achieved fifth place in the U16. He was able to win three of seven games and remembered his game against the later Saarland master Cedric Chassard.

particularly highlighted is Jan Jeschke (17) from SC Caissa Schwarzenbach, who won the title in the U18 and remained undefeated in all seven games. Jonas Feidt from SC Turm Illingen was second in the U18. Mansur Mukazhanov from Rochade Saarlouis secured the title in the U12. Anna Huppert (17) from SC Réti Heusweiler took fourth place in the U18 with three wins, a draw and two defeats. Frank Engel, the chairman of Rochade Saarlouis, was extremely satisfied with the achievements of his members and the overall result of the tournament.

The chess community in Saarlouis is still lively and committed by these events, which is important for both the promotion of young talent and strengthening the community. Such events make a significant contribution to the popularity of chess sports in the region.
