Writer Mirandolina Babylonashvili: Staufenberg becomes her creative retreat!

Mirandolina Babunashvili, a 28-year-old writer, will live in Staufenberg for two months from May. It receives the scholarship "Land in the State of Hesse", which was announced on April 25, 2025. Babunashvili will use her time there to focus on completing her first novel. This novel is expected to include around 300 pages and treats topics such as growing up, family and migration.

The project "Author residences in rural areas", which has been supported by the Association of Hessian Literature Council since 2017, has added Staufenberg as a new location this year. Together with Wolfhagen and Lorsch, Staufenberg is now part of a program that enables a break in rural areas. On site, the scholarship program is organized by the association in pulse-cultural policy working group Staufenberg.

During her stay, Babunashvili plans to offer a workshop for children and young people in Lollar at the CBE. Your previous experience includes scholarships and workshops in Bonn, Graz and in rural regions of Germany. The author will also hold a reading in June that serves to tell more about her novel and personal biography.

The scholarship "Land in sight" enables three scholarship holder to live and work in rural areas in Hesse for two months. The tender for the scholarships takes place annually. From mid -January, interested parties can apply for the first scholarship that will be awarded in May and June, while the program planning for the later scholarships will run from the beginning of the year.
