Serious accident in Kalkar: drivers drunk and without license!

A serious accident occurred on January 2nd, 2025 at 8:42 p.m. in the roundabout at the barracks in Kalkar. A 50-year-old man from Goch, who was traveling with a silver Honda, apparently overlooked the roundabout and ran over the middle island. He destroyed a warning bake and collided with an Audi that was in the roundabout. The 59-year-old Audi driver from Kalkar was unharmed.

The Honda driver, on the other hand, was seriously injured and had to be taken to the hospital. At first there was danger to life, which, however, later turned out to be no longer given, although he remained seriously injured. Blood samples were removed because there was suspicion of drug use. It also turned out that the Honda driver was under the influence of alcohol, had no driver's license and the vehicle was not approved-the attached license plates were not part of this car. Both vehicles were secured and were not ready to drive. The Klever police over the accident took over the accident recording.
