Sebastian Mock will be the new managing director of the Hersfeld-Rotenburg Clinic!
On August 1, 2025, Sebastian Mock (33) will compete as the new managing director of the Hersfeld-Rotenburg Clinic. He follows Katja Bittner, who had taken over the management of the house with a contract for eight months 2025. Bittner had come into office to initiate the necessary restructuring for saving the financially stricken clinic group. In the past two years, the clinic has needed around 40 million euros in grants for ongoing operation, which underlines the urgency of the reforms.
The district administrator and chairman of the supervisory board Torsten Warnecke praises Sebastian Mock as a manager with a high level of competence in the management, consolidation and realignment of clinic locations. Mock previously headed several Helios facilities, including the Helios St. Elisabeth Clinic in Hünfeld. In addition, he brings experience from other stations in Germany, including institutions in Hünfeld, Überlingen, Rottweil and in Northern and Central Germany, such as Gotha, Cuxhaven and Hamburg.
strategic realignment of the clinic
MOCK has completed a study in health management at the State Student Academy of Thuringia and is considered an expert in the strategic realignment of clinic locations. With the upcoming challenges that the hospital reform and the economic pressure bring with it, he plans to work together with all professional groups on the sustainable further development of the clinic network. The upcoming hospital reform includes the introduction of a nationwide performance group system that will fundamentally change hospital planning.
The reform aims to assign specific quality requirements for personnel, equipment and processes to each clinic and is expected to cause a stronger specialization of clinics. This could lead to smaller facilities concentrating on basic care or converting to outpatient care centers. Medium -sized and larger clinics have to redefine their range of services, while highly specialized centers are to be created for complex interventions.
Patient orientation and innovative health care
mock strives for a patient -oriented, innovative and economic health care. He emphasizes the importance of teamwork and responsibility for the results of his actions. His sporting background as a former handball player and today's endurance athlete is reflected in his active approach to challenges.
With a current team of around 2300 employees and several locations in the region, the Hersfeld-Rotenburg Clinic will take an important step into the future by Sebastian Mock's management. Experts see the upcoming realignment an opportunity to actively shape the challenges of the hospital reform and reduce the pressure on the company. From 2028, relaxation will also be expected by the new construction of the clinic on the Wehneberg.
MOCK lives with his life partner in Fulda and brings a mix of business knowledge and practical experience that qualifies him for the challenges in healthcare.
