Ternitz on the way to climate neutrality: information and chance of winning!

The city of Ternitz has big plans for the future: it should be climate -neutral by 2040. Under the direction of City Councilor Daniela Mohr and project manager Gernot Zottl is developed by a comprehensive climate neulic timetable. This timetable is part of the new “Ternitz 2040 - Ternitz - Ternitz with climate -neutralism schedule” and aims to implement strategies, measures and sustainable capacity structure.

The opening event to explain the climate neuterability timetable will take place on February 19 at 6 p.m. in the Ternitz town hall. Visitors can not only find out about the plans, but also the chance of a small profit, a balcony force, which is used by the EVN . The venue is the city hall at Theodor-Körner-Platz 22630 Ternitz.

Environmental engagement of the city

It is not for nothing that

ternitz is referred to as the "environmental model". It is not only a member of the E5 program with four awards, but also part of the climate and energy model region and bears the title of energy model. This underlines the city's commitment to actively face the challenges of climate change.

Participation in the smart cities initiative of the climate and energy fund of the Austrian Federal Government also shows the will of the city to find innovative solutions in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2040. The main focus is on the sustainable energy supply, mobility and the opening of sealed areas.

The way to climate neutrality in Austria

Austria has set itself the overarching goal of becoming climate -neutral by 2040. This project includes significant changes in business and society, which puts cities at the center of action. According to information from the BMK regional actors play a crucial role in the fight against climate change.

The initiative ASK920 offers cities and municipalities to accompany transformation processes. The focus is on new solution strategies and technologies for climate -neutral cities. Skills and strategies are to be developed together, while the goal of a high quality of life and resource efficiency for city dwellers: is not lost sight of the inside.

Through the close cooperation between urban politics, administration, science, business and society, Ternitz wants to set an example for other communities in Austria and actively shape the way to climate neutrality.
