Fathers' meeting in Cologne: Exchange about family and father role starts!
On March 5, 2025, numerous events are on the program for the Protestant communities in Cologne and the surrounding area, which both support the community and take up current social issues.
The Evangelical Family Education Center Cologne starts on Friday, March 7th, a new fathers' meeting with children from 0 to 2 years. The meetings take place on six Fridays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on the premises at Sachsenring 2-4, Cologne. Fathers have the opportunity to exchange ideas about their role and everyday family life over coffee and tea while their children can play on a playing area. A course instructor will offer age -appropriate suggestions. The participation fee is 39 euros, and registration is required at www.fbskoeln.org.
On the same day, the Melanchthon-Akademie in a lecture on "Anti-Semitism in 2025". Stefan Hößl, the study leader of the academy, will talk about the development of anti -Semitism since 1945 and its current manifestations at 7:30 p.m. in the Friedenskirche in Pulheim. premieres and special occasions
Another highlight of the weekend is the premiere of "Domus dei de Monte" by the Evangelical parish of Altenberg/Schildgen on Saturday, March 8, at 2:00 p.m. in the Altenberg Cathedral. In addition to this work, the choir "Confido Vocale & Camerata" under the direction of Wolfgang Endrös will also perform other compositions by Mendelssohn and Bruckner. On the same day, the Evangelical parish of Cologne celebrates a women's day for World Women's Day from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Under the motto "Spring cleaning for the soul, what can go away and what can stay?" the community expects a meal together to end the event. Introductory service and church preparations
The Sunday, March 9, is devoted to the introductory service of the presbytery in the Antoniterkirche, which begins with a Bach cantata at 6:00 p.m. The cantata "Jesus took the twelve" (BWV 22) is performed by Silja Bothe (Alt), Johannes Klüser (tenor), David Jerusalem (bass) and an instrumental ensemble.
