Coat of arms for Johannes Reineke: Volunteer with a heart in focus!
On April 3, 2025, Johannes Reineke from Hohenwepel was awarded the Höxter district's coat of arms. This honor, the highest award in the district, was awarded by District Administrator Michael Stickeln in order to appreciate Reineke's outstanding commitment in the community. Reineke is a co-founder and first chairman of the old tractor club Hohenwepel, which has existed since 1990, which plays an important role in the region.
The old tractor club Hohenwepel is known for its old tractor meeting that takes place every two years, which with around 2,000 visitors is the largest tractor event in the region. The next meeting, the 32nd old tractor meeting, will take place on September 13 and 14, 2025, in which over 300 old tractors are expected. The CAN association falls back on the support of around 100 helpers who participate in the organization and implementation of the event. Stogules emphasized the importance of this event for the identity of the rural region and describes it as a festival that brings together the community.
volunteer engagement
Johannes Reineke is not only active as part of the old tractor club. He is also strongly committed to the community outside the association. The mayor Daniel Strathaus emphasizes Reineke as the largest assets of the local community and thus illustrates its commitment to the development of municipal life in Hohenwepel. Reineke himself is modest about the award and emphasizes that his success is also based on teamwork within the club.
This type of civic engagement is of central importance for the cultural life of many communities in Germany. However, volunteers are increasingly struggling with challenges, including the need to gain younger generations for long -term engagements and to adapt to new legal requirements such as the General Data Protection Regulation. According to BMEL , these aspects are of great importance in order to secure the structures in rural areas and to support other challenges despite the voluntary work.
old tractor meeting 2023
At the last old tractor meeting, which took place on August 26 and 27, 2023, the old tractor club and Reineke with over 350 tractors and around 2,000 visitors were able to record a great success again. A creative novelty of the event was a bet that was based on the well -known television program "Wetten, dass ...". One goal was set: 75 John-Deere tractors should set themselves up in a row on August 27 at 1.30 p.m. Finally, 99 tractors came, so the board of the ATC Hohenwepel donated 100 liters of free beer. These and other sponsorships as well as cooperation with local companies such as Albert Steene Agricultural Technology from Peckelsheim have contributed significantly to the success of the event.
This is how Johannes Reineke's commitment and the work of the old tractor club remains invaluable for the municipality of Hohenwepel and beyond. With his leadership role and his tireless efforts, Reineke is a shining example of voluntary work in the region.
